Abstract

Reviews relatively obscure parapsychological research to determine whether the field is as "uncharted" as contemporary researchers are prone to believe. Turn-of-the-century theories on the laws of the mind, examples of 19th-century skeptics, and a 1924 work on psychoanalysis and paranormal phenomena by L. Landis are outlined in an effort to show that much of what is known and not known about parapsychology may have already been documented by little-known authors. (11 ref)
