Haight, JoMarie(1979). Spontaneous psi cases: A survey and preliminary study of ESP, attitude, and personality relationships. Journal of Parapsychology, 43(3), (pp. 179-204) Abstract Administered the High School Personality Questionnaire (HSPQ), ESP tests, and an attitude and experience questionnaire to 254 high school students, 112 of whom reported an experience (psi Ss) that they felt was related to psi. On a 10-run standard ESP symbol test, psi Ss scored significantly higher than non-psi Ss, largely because of psi-missing by non-psi Ss. Analysis of the attitude and experience questionnaire showed that for all items psi Ss had more positive responses that non-psi Ss. The HSPQ was analyzed for possible relationships between personality factors and reports of experiences. Two factors (Cortertia and Premsia) showed a relationship; however, the significance must be viewed in context of the large number of analyses. (39 ref)
