Reiser, Martin, Ludwig, Louise, Saxe, Susan & Wagner, Clare(1979). An evaluation of the use of psychics in the investigation of major crimes. Journal of Police Science and Administration, 7(1), (pp. 18-25) Abstract Evaluated the usefulness of psychic information to the solution of crimes investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department. 12 reputable psychics were presented with evidence from 2 solved and 2 unsolved crimes selected by an investigator not involved in the research. Overall, little if any of the information elicited from the 12 psychics provided material useful to the investigation of the crimes. There was a low rate of interpsychic accuracy and congruence among the responses. (4 ref)
