Rogo, D Scott(1977). Parapsychology and the genesis of doubt. Parapsychology Review, 8(6), (pp. 20-22) Abstract Asserts that parapsychologists are not, as often claimed, credulous, with a "will to believe." On the contrary, they are more prone to the "morning after" phenomenon; as time passes they have a tendency to doubt ESP and psychokinetic findings even when the experiments have been tightly controlled and personally witnessed. Perhaps cognitive dissonance and perceptual defense are generated by an unconscious anxiety when cultural beliefs as to how the world works are threatened.
