Thouless, Robert H (1976). The effect of the experimenter's attitude on experimental results in parapsychology. Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, 48(767), (pp. 261 -266) Abstract Examines the "Rosenthal effect" (i.e., the E's expectancy is a self -fulfilling prophecy of results) in parapsychology experiments. Two examples of research are cited which suggest that the E's attitude about expected results will nearly parallel actual results. This phenomenon has been observed in other areas of research and should be considered a possible factor in parapsychological studies.
