Abstract

Discusses many reasons for G. Murphy's influence and importance. He was a gifted administrator and a stimulating lecturer, generating interest and excitement among both experts and the uninformed. His range of knowledge spread far beyond parapsychology. His encouragement and help were always available to students and friends. These and other traits of character are described, and a brief life history is given.
