Criswell, Eleanor (1974). Humanistic psychology: Avenues to the psychic. Psychic, 5(4), (pp. 44-49) Abstract Discusses the origin and rapid expansion of humanistic psychology. It is felt that development of the humanistic dimension should be the basis for any attempt to develop psychic potential. 8 categories of approach to humanistic psychology are described: the body and senses; group experiences; psychoecology and community; growth centers, schools, and organizations; altered states of consciousness; psychosymbology and fantasy; psychotechnology; and sadhanas and spiritual centers. It is suggested that the common factors in these approaches and the increasing emphasis on the unification of mind and body may lead to the development of individuals who are wholly in tune with their environment and who may live more and more in terms of parapsychology.
