Nash, Carroll B (1969). Cutaneous perception of color. Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research, (1), (pp. 83-87) Abstract Attempted to determine (1) whether Ss could distinguish between black and red paper touched with the fingertips but concealed from vision, (2) whether the color could be identified when the paper was covered with transparent cellophane .03 mm. in thickness, and (3) whether the color could be identified when the paper was covered with glass 1/8 in. in thickness. Each of 36 Ss was tested in 3 25-trial runs in each of these conditions. Only the results for the 1st 2 conditions were significant (p = .01).
