Dalkvist, Jan
& Westerlund, Joakim (1998). Five experiments on telepathic communication of
emotions. Journal of Parapsychology, 62(3), (pp. 219-253) Abstract A series of 5 similar experiments tested
for telepathic communication of emotions, evoked by positive and negative
motif slide pictures between groups of senders and groups of receivers. 337
Ss (aged 18-65) served both as senders and receivers of emotions in 2
different parts of a session. Telepathic performance (hit-rate as defined as
the number of correct guesses) was tested as a function of S factors (gender,
belief in telepathy as measured at the beginning and end of a session, the
order of the task as sender and as receiver, age, repetition avoidance, and
number of positive responses. Telepathic performance was also examined in
relation to stimulus factors which were the position order of the target
pictures, picture characteristics (as measured by psychological scales), and
sequence of stimuli and response. For each of the 2 sets of analyses, a
number of significant effects were obtained. Results suggest that
"natural\' explanations of the findings are extremely un!likely.
Implications for a set of 8 predictions to be tested in a follow-up
experiment are discussed.
