Abstract

Believers in the paranormal scored significantly higher on measures of magical ideation and neuroticism and were more external on per­sonal efficacy locus of control, in a study conducted with 169 Australian college students in 1987. Subjects completed the Australian Sheep-Goat Scale and the Tobacyk-Milford Paranormal Belief Scale together with a battery of tests measuring three demographic and ten cognitive/personality/psychopathological dimensions.
