Irwin, Harvey J (1997). Dissociative tendencies as a marker of parapsychological phenomena: Constructive observations with reference to Michelson and Ray\'s Handbook of Dissociation. Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research, 91(2), (pp. 133-141)

Abstract

Notwithstanding a degree of unease in some quarters, the role of dissociative processes in parapsychological phenomena is proposed as a key topic for current parapsychological research. In this context, recent developments in mainstream dissociation research have posed substantial questions that deserve the attention of parapsychologists. Some of these issues are examined with reference to the encyclopedic Handbook of Dissociation compiled by L. K. Michelson and W. J. Ray (1996). Major avenues for future research are identified.
