Vassy, Zoltan (1995). Indirect
application of ESP in counseling. Journal of Parapsychology, 59(2),
(pp. 147-162) Abstract Examined the relationship
between ESP test results and the actual unconscious mental state. Ss were 64
college students participating in a counseling program that ran from 1989 to
1994. Ss performed a precognitive timing task as a means of introspective
self-analysis to help solve mental stresses and conflicts. It was expected
that the tendency to correctly hit randomly generated numbers would indicate
success in decreasing unconscious stresses, while a missing tendency would
indicate a failure to do so. The variability of the run scores was
significantly higher than chance (p<.004), which shows that there were
consistent hitting and missing tendencies during the periods of the
introspective self-analysis.
