Eisenbud, J (1963). Two
approaches to spontaneous case material. Journal of the American Society
for Psychical Research, 57, (pp. 118-135) Abstract A contrast is made in the way spontaneous
psi events are viewed by parapsychologists and psychoanalysts. "One might
generalize and assert that whereas to parapsychologists the case material
becomes of interest only insofar as it supports the assumption of psi in the
picture, to psychoanalysts the psi hypothesis becomes of interest only
insofar as it may be required to explain the case material."
