Rhine, L E
(1963). Auditory psi experiences: Hallucinatory or physical? Journal of
Parapsychology, 27(3), (pp. 182-198) Abstract Auditory hallucinations that seem to
involve ESP in the hallucinator are of 2 main types. The 1st are
hallucinations of the human voice; the 2nd are sounds of apparently purely
physical origin. The voice hallucinations are generally heard only by 1
person even when there are 2 or more people present. The physical sounds are
generally heard by anyone who happens to be within range. This suggests that
the former are truly subjective hallucinations whereas the latter appear to
be unexplained physical disturbances that generate sound waves that are
picked up by the ear in the normal way.
