Greene, F M (1960). The feeling
of luck and its effect on PK. Journal of Parapsychology, 24, (pp.
129-141) Abstract A questionnaire was developed
to find out if people tend to think of themselves as being consistently
lucky or unlucky. Information collected from 281 college students and 45
older adults indicated that some do so regard themselves. Tests involving
predicting a sequence of die throws and then making the throws in the effort
to match the predictions were given to the 12 "most lucky" and 12 "least
lucky" Ss. Significant results were found in terms of declines in the
scoring rate, but these were not related in any consistent manner to the
lucky and unlucky groups.
