Soal, S G (1959). Statistical methods in psychical research: II.
Comments on Mr. Gregory\'s paper. British Journal of Statistical
Psychology, 12, (pp. 149-152) Abstract "In a
brief discussion of card-guessing distributions it is argued that the use of
Pierce-Chauvenet rule, as proposed by Mr. Gregory [see 35: 391], would not
necessarily apply to experiments in which the target series was not even
approximately random. Certain objections are also urged against Mr.
Gregory\'s views on the play at Monte Carlo and on the nature of the
information received by successful card-guessers whose achievements
apparently defy the laws of chance."
