Abstract
Generally speaking, experiments that include complex systems show a smaller degree of repeatability than experiments dealing
with simple systems. The problem of so-called "negative result measurements" is discussed and also how the repeatability of experiments is affected. The pragmatic information about the complex system that is available to the experimenter plays an important role in the preparation of the system, and the consequences for the design of experiments with complex systems are discussed
