psychic phenomena.Oxford, England: David Mckay. (ix, 244 pp) Abstract The book is intended as an introduction to
paranormal phenomena. The author describes and interprets mystical states,
ghosts and apparitions, poltergeists, and extrasensory perception. One
chapter is devoted to mediumistic fraud and another to the laboratory
investigations of Rhine and his co-workers. The final chapter consists of an
excursion into aspects of the philosophy of science designed to show that
psychic phenomena can be embraced within a modern scientific perspective.
