Masih, Y (1956). Metapsychology of James
and Freud. Journal Bihar University, 1, (pp. 61-69) Abstract "In important respects the metapsychology
of religion by Freud is simply a continuation of the theory of William
James." James attaches importance to the sub-conscious, which assumes two
fold character, a psychological hypothesis and a speculative concept. Freud
has gone beyond James in stressing the biological side, in challenging
utility of a belief in the existence of God and in imagining that mankind in
the distant future, will be divested of its religious illusion.
