Rhine, L E (1960). The evaluation of non-recurrent
psi experiences bearing on postmortem survival. Journal of
Parapsychology, 24, (pp. 8-25) Abstract The
Duke collection of about 8000 reports of parapsychical experiences which
occurred spontaneously in everyday life were examined to find those
suggesting an active contact with deceased persons. The 658 such cases found
were then examined for the apparent relative strength of motive in the
living percipient and the deceased agent apparently involved in each case.
Only 4 cases were found in which the motive could be ascribed only to the
deceased person.
