Stanley Krippner is internationally known for his pioneering work in the
scientific investigation of human consciousness, especially such areas as
creativity, parapsychological phenomena and altered states of consciousness.
Prior to joining the Saybrook faculty in 1972, Dr. Krippner directed the Dream
Laboratory at Maimonides Medical Center in New York and was Director of the
Child Study Center at Kent State University. He has served as President of the
Association for Humanistic Psychology, the Parapsychological Association and the
Association for the Study of Dreams. He is also a Charter Member of the
International Society for the Study of Dissociation and is a Fellow of the
American Psychological Association, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex,
the American Psychological Society, the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis
and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
Dr. Krippner received a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Northwestern
University. He has written over 500 articles and several books, including: Human

Mythology (co-author), Healing States (co-author), Dreamworking (co-author), A

Dr. Krippner's diverse academic interests include clinical, educational and
health issues. At Saybrook, he is responsible for developing and teaching
courses in the area of consciousness studies.
