Abstract

This study tested a hypothesis based on a classical swara text that the dominant flow of air through left nostril (ida) is associated with psychic abilities (siddhis). The sample consisted of one hundred male students, whose nasal flow was determined following a conventional method while they did a standard five-run envelope ESP test. The results indicated that both the left nostril dominant group and the right nostril dominant group performed at the chance level on the ESP test and that they did not differ significantly from each other in their ESP scores.
