May, Edwin C(2001). Towards the physics of psi: Correlation of physical variables. European Journal of Parapsychology, 16, (pp. 42-52) Abstract Discusses 3 physical correlates of psi and anomalous cognition: (1) the gradient of Shannon entropy, (2) local sidereal time (LST), and (3) geomagnetic field fluctuations Ap index. These physical and orientation variables are described as significantly correlating with the outcome measures of such free-response methodologies as ganzfeld and direct interaction with living systems, or DMILS. The trial effect-size is enhanced by a factor of 3 at 13.30 LST over the mean effect size at other values of LST. The author shows data in support of the correlations and speculates about possible mechanisms.
