Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research, 83(3), (pp. 227-239) Abstract A short review of the concept and qualitative observations of extrasensory perception (ESP) displacement published before 1940 is presented. The examples discussed are from ESP experiments and mediumistic studies. Explanations proposed to account for the phenomenon (e.g., deferred telepathic impressions, interference from ESP sources other than the target) are also included.
