Palmer, John(1989). Confronting the experimenter effect: II. Parapsychology Review, 20(5), (pp. 1-5) Abstract Argues in Part II that Ss and the experimenter may contribute jointly to most psi outcomes. Needs and motivation are important factors in psi research and imply strong psi input by the experimenter. The chaos model in psi research is discussed, in which the conscious and unconscious needs and motives of all individuals involved may affect the experiment. A constraint in psi research to lessen the effects of chaos involves restricting potential psi sources to those psychologically involved with the experiment.
