Abstract

Discusses research on whether displacement accompanies or causes psi -missing on the intended target. Although findings of a number of studies superficially indicate a concurrence of psi-missing and displacement, there are possible sources of statistical artifact that could explain such a relationship in the absence of true displacement. The papers reviewed here investigate the relationship between displacement and scoring on the intended target and give sufficient detail for an assessment of the extent to which such artifacts may account for the results. The literature discussed offers no conclusive support for a nonartifactual link between scoring on the target and displacement.
