Berger, Rick E(1988). Psi effects without real-time feedback. Journal of Parapsychology, 52(1), (pp. 1-27) Abstract Two computer psi games formed the basis of 4 ESP experiments, using 21 human Ss (aged 13-58 yrs). S-initiated button presses resulted in 2 yoked sample runs (feedback and silent) of random-number generator (RNG) data. Ss received real-time audiovisual feedback to the feedback RNG data and no feedback for the silent RNG data. With goodness-of-fit tests as the dependent measure, silent run-score distributions showed a significant departure from chance in Exps 1 and 2. Significant run-score effects appeared only in the silent condition of Exps 3 and 4. Silent data were observed only by the experimenter as S, and Ss were blind to their presence.
