Gissurarson, Loftur R(1986). RNG-PK microcomputer "games" overviewed: An experiment with the videogame "PSI INVADERS." European Journal of Parapsychology, 6(3), (pp. 199-215) Abstract A random number generator (RNG)-psychokinesis (PK) computer-controlled videogame was used to evoke PK performance from 15 Ss in the US and 15 Ss in Iceland. Ss played 1 warm-up and 2 real RNG-PK video games called PSI INVADERS. Findings indicate that the US but not the Icelandic Ss departed from mean chance expectation in their game performance. It is suggested that the US Ss were more motivated to perform well, since they may have been more familiar with the videogame task used than the Icelandic Ss. The importance of excitement and interest in eliciting PK in test situations is emphasized. The author discusses whether RNG-PK games designed to generate interest in Ss can produce clearer evidence of PK in certain Ss.
