Morris, Robert L(1986). Minimizing subject fraud in parapsychology laboratories. European Journal of Parapsychology, 6(2), (pp. 137-149) Abstract Presents a preliminary organization of strategies for minimizing attempts at fraud during parapsychological research. Emphasizing prevention as opposed to detection, the strategies focus on the motivations of pseudopsychics. Research protocols of the laboratory should incorporate expertise in general strategies of pseudoparapsychology and in specific tactics that are typical of whatever claims are under investigation. Guidelines and practices developed at other laboratories should be consulted, and magicians and other experts should be interviewed whenever possible. Other strategies include threats of full disclosure of any fraud discovered during research and the avoidance of media attention that would attract pseudopsychics. (0 ref)
