Dybvig, Magne(1986). Parapsychology and the sensory-motor hypothesis. European Journal of Parapsychology, 6(2), (pp. 167-194) Abstract Discusses the concept of paranormal phenomena and its general theoretical and philosophical applicability and details elements of the study of parapsychological phenomena. Focus is on the most general and important parapsychological hypothesis, specifically articulated as a reformulation of the sensory-motor hypothesis. The sensory-motor hypothesis is based on nonaccidental correspondences between states and activities of an S and his/her environment that occur through direct or indirect sensory interaction with the environment and/or through direct or indirect motor interaction with the environment. Parapsychological phenomena are understood to be exceptions to the general sensory-motor explanation of phenomena.
