Heseltine, G L(1985). PK success during structured and nonstructured RNG operation. Journal of Parapsychology, 49(2), (pp. 155-163) Abstract Examined departures from the theoretically expected distribution of numbers in random number sequences that were measured in each run of a psychokinesis (PK)-precognition task for an adult female. The hypothesis that no correlation would be found between these departures and scoring was examined in 2 series of experiments. A related hypothesis, that structured runs produced by random number generators (RNGs) would score the same as nonstructured runs was also examined. In the feedback series, the S pressed a button whenever she felt the next step in a random walk display would be downward. The S was significantly successful, and no differences in scoring were found between the structured and nonstructured runs. Scoring did not correlate with the departures from expectation. In the nonfeedback series, the display was a flat line. Though overall scoring was at chance, a significant differential in scoring was found between the structured and nonstructured runs. (7 ref)
