Abstract

Contends that, although hypnotherapists sometimes unintentionally cause the manifestation of latent paranormal or mediumistic abilities, the study of parapsychology should be left to those who specialize in the field. A case illustration of the paranormal ability to effect spontaneous combustion is examined, and how the problem was solved by the intervention of the hypnotherapist is described. When a similar case took place in Florence, Italy, however, the help of a hypnotherapist was not sought.
