Nash, Carroll B(1984). Holistic shift and repeatability rates. Parapsychology Review, 15(5), (pp. 7-10) Abstract Discusses studies investigating whether psi acts holistically. The principle of holistic shift is that a psi source tends to operate at increasingly larger holistic goals, which results in declines in the individual event score and in experimental repeatability. Because of holistic shift, successful repetition of a psi experiment is favored by methods that maintain the focus of the psi source on the individual event so that shift of interest to a higher level is inhibited. In spite of holistic shift, the average repeatability rate of 10 psi-associated variables is over 50%. (33 ref)
