Schouten, Sybo A(1983). Quantitative Analysen paranormaler Spontanberichte. / Quantitative analyses of spontaneous cases. Zeitschrift fuer Parapsychologie und Grenzgebiete der Psychologie, 25(1-2), (pp. 1-27) Abstract Presents an overview of the results of 3 studies in which collections of spontaneous paranormal experiences (PEs) from different countries and epochs were analyzed quantitatively to determine whether PEs could be characterized by common trends and, if so, whether different cultures would yield different characteristics. The finding that all collections show the same characteristics indicates that a common process shapes these experiences. The main exception concerns the way PEs become conscious. The distribution of types of PEs seems culturally dependent. (English abstract) (35 ref)
