Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, 51(791), (pp. 265 -271) Abstract States that modern researchers have ignored investigations into psi phenomena conducted during the 19th and early 20th centuries and that a knowledge of the older literature is required to develop experimental designs of psychic events, such as out-of-body experiences, psychokinesis, and extrasensory perception. It is argued that many recent "discoveries" had been anticipated in previous research and that the previous research was sufficiently sound methodologically to be a part of the parapsychology corpus.
