White, Rhea A(1982). An analysis of ESP phenomena in the saints. Parapsychology Review, 13(1), (pp. 15-18) Abstract Used Butler's Lives of the Saints (A. Butler, 1926) to examine ESP phenomena among 2,532 Catholic saints. Findings show that ESP phenomena among the saints were not different from modern spontaneous cases and that all of the usual forms of ESP were present: telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, and out-of-body experiences. There are indications that some saints had some degree of volitional control of psi and that this may have been associated with the degree to which they had advanced in their mystical lives. (2 ref)
